About the role
PwC is an independent member of the PwC international network of firms. Based in London and Manchester we have 29 partners/directors and employ over 350 legal feeearners. As well as projectbased specialist legal advice we offer our clients ongoing general counsel support. We have access to legal expertise in over 85 countries.
The Corporate practice is one of PwC Legals largest practice groups. The Corporate team focuses on corporate and business structuring projects ranging from significant multiterritory reorganisation projects to smaller intragroup reorganisations as well as M&A and private equity work. The team also has specialisms in advising on LLPs and LLP conversions and European company law (crossborder / domestic mergers.
Our clients include numerous household name MNCs and listed groups as well privately owned companies and inbound groups. Our structuring practice focuses on clients ranging from MNCs and listed groups for whom the work is very much crossborder in nature and often done with other legal teams in the PwC international network to smaller privately owned companies and our M&A practice tends to focus on privately owned companies inbound groups and midtier PE houses. Our teams often work with tax corporate finance deals advisory and other professionals from within PwC LLP to deliver a joined up service to our clients.
We are looking for experienced lawyers with a general corporate law and transactional background to join this busy friendly team at Senior Associate to Manager level and help support the continued expansion of the team in the regions.
What your days will look like:
Engage in a wide range of projects applying technical areas of law in detail.
Collaborate with nonlawyers at PwC including tax and deals advisers.
Gain a deep understanding of business issues and the commercial context of legal advice.
Handle technically challenging projects for highprofile clients.
Participate in the growth and development of the Corporate practice.
Embrace diverse corporate work and avoid repetitive deals.
Work closely with PwC professionals across various locations including international teams.
Assist in a variety of tasks for a diverse range of clients including secondments to highprofile clients.
Demonstrate high technical competence and knowledge of corporate transactional work.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and PwC professionals.
Manage certain matters under the supervision of Corporate partners.
Collaborate closely with other fee earners in the team.
Exhibit strong organisational skills and handle significant responsibility in transactions.
Network and build relationships within PwC and with clients
The skills and experience we are looking for:
Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction.
Excellent academic background.
A solid general corporate law and private company M&A background.
Experience of intragroup corporate and business structuring work.
An interest in working in a variety of corporate areas.
Strong client service skills.
67 years PQE
Primarily a team player but also able to work under own initiative.
Clear articulate and confident in written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to get involved in business development and networking activities
