Who are we looking for

Our established Sydney Natural Resources & Agriculture team works collaboratively with our private and public sector clients to guide effective land management decisionmaking and to deliver practical ecology solutions for conservation and infrastructure project of varying scales.

We are seeking a Senior Ecologist specialising in biodiversity assessments impact and offset evaluations and land management services to join our team and partner with a diverse range of stakeholders while enjoying the support of passionate leaders ongoing professional development opportunities and all the resources you need to succeed.

Working in a team of passionate ecologists this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Delivering biodiversity assessments impact and offset evaluations and management services for project approvals and natural area management.
  • Assisting with the application of the NSW Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) and providing advice on regulatory frameworks and project approval pathways.
  • Leading the delivery of proposals technical reports and managing projects while maintaining client and regulatory relationships.
  • Preparing Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements.
  • Mentoring and training junior staff.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Over 6 years of professional experience in a consulting environment with tertiary qualifications in botany ecology or a related discipline.
  • Experience in biodiversity impact assessment and offsetting with accreditation (or working towards) to apply the NSW Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM).
  • Proven skills in ecological assessment monitoring evaluation reporting botanical survey and vegetation management.
  • Proficient in flora and fauna species identification plant community type mapping and identifying threatened ecological communities.
  • Welldeveloped knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policies along with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and mentor junior team members.
  • A current full NSW drivers license and willingness to travel and work in remote areas
