What Youll Do:
Act as project manager for small to mediumsized engineering projects including new design and the evaluation investigation and design of repairs for existing buildings. Responsible for managing challenging single major engineering projects or multiple projects requiring supervision of several staff and client relationships. Duties include:
- Perform design site investigations and documentation of existing conditions.
- Apply engineering principles physics & materials science to exterior envelope of buildings.
- Investigate and design remediation of building envelope malfunctions.
- Provide design and construction assistance to contractors and design consultation to architects.
- Perform component sampling of all envelope components including wall claddings windows roofs skylights flooring plaza waterproofing and below grade elements.
- Perform field investigation and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems windows curtain walls and other building components.
- Design of remedial repairs to existing building systems including walls roofs window and curtain wall systems and plaza waterproofing systems.
- Provide onthejob training and mentoring to staff.
- Conduct peer review of engineering plans and specifications.
- Litigation support for engineering projects involving all the issues discussed above.
- Assist during the construction administration phase of engineering projects.
- Maintain professional relationships and involvement (associations committees etc. in field of technical expertise.
- Climb ladders and scaffolds routinely work at great heights.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Structural or Architectural Engineering plus 5 years experience working in an engineering type role with an architectural/engineering or construction management firm.
- Experience must include 3 years of construction site experience (may be gained concurrently).
- Must have Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Eligible to telecommute up to 3 days/week from a home office within normal commuting distance of Los Angeles CA.
- Position requires up to 5 domestic travel to project sites.

Compensation:
Anticipated base salary: $106744 $123760/year. This is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law.
The actual salary offered may vary from the range as permitted by the California Equal Pay Transparency Law and will be based on several factors including the candidates experience and qualifications education skills competencies and proficiency for the role. Base salary is a part of SGHs industryleading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary pay for extra hours worked an annual bonus program generous paid time off and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGHs Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.
