APS6 Senior Governance Officer

Approximate 12month contract Canberra Location $60.02 $67.89 per hour plus 11.5 superannuation

OVERVIEW

Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Governance Officer to join their team at the APS6 level. Within this role you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of the departments corporate reporting and governance requirements.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating and drafting of the annual report corporate plan operational report and annual performance statements.
  • Assisting with the development and administration of performance measures
  • Providing high quality advice including preparing complex written briefings and reports
  • Consulting and collaborating with senior staff across the department
  • Coordinating risk reviews and reporting and working the internal auditors on the audit program
  • Managing conflict of interest policy and practices
  • Secretariat support for committees (Business Operations Committee and/or Audit and Risk Committee)

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to lead and successfully manage projects by developing and following clear plans to accomplish outcomes and manage any issues that arise.
  • Proven ability to deliver highly clear well written documents.
  • Excellent judgement strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly in a constantly changing work environment
  • High level relationship management skills with the ability to build and sustain strong networks and relationships within the agency and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to collate and interpret complex information.
