A wellestablished structural engineering firm located in Metuchen NJ is seeking a structural engineer to join their team. The company provides structural engineering solutions for the construction industry. Typical clients are general contractors shoring and bracing subcontractors demolition subcontractors and many more. They assist their clients by providing costeffective structurally sound and practical solutions for some of the most complex construction problems.
Job Responsibilities :
Analyze design and prepare documentation for temporary shoring bracing formwork hoist scaffold and overhead protection systems.
Perform condition assessments of existing structures and if applicable analyze and design necessary repairs and renovations.
Analyze existing structures due to loading from construction equipment.
Uses computeraided design (CAD) software to prepare deliverables including submittals details and sketches.
Prepares formal and informal calculations using structural engineering fundamentals construction bestpractices and general knowledge of scaffolding and shoring.
Follows design codes and standards published by IBC ASCE AISC ACI NDS and other.
Meets with clients both on site and in the office to discuss project requirements and/or design approaches.
Job Requirements:
BS or MS in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures preferred
At least 3 5 years of structural engineering experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural engineering analysis programs such as RISA 3D Enercalc and StructurePoint software
Scaffold Hoisting and Shoring knowledge preferred
