Job Description Summary

The Americas Heavy Duty Gas Turbine New Units (HDGT NU) Finance Manager will be responsible for providing overall finance leadership for the HDGT NU business line in the Americas pole. This leadership role is the strategic partner to the Americas Projects GM and is responsible for leading daily management continuous improvement and transformation ultimately driving growth profitability and cash for the pole and accountable for the financials for each project in the Americas portfolio.

Job Description

As the Americas HDGT NU Finance Manager you will:

  • Partner with Americas Project GM Project Directors and Project core teams to provide inputs for decision making to optimize financial performance both shortterm and longterm
  • Seek to optimize financials (P&L Cash) and identify potential operational risks and opportunities within the portfolio to deliver better than the AS SOLD and engage with Business Partners to escalate as required
  • Leverage business analytics (e.g. as sold vs executed annual margin review learnings etc. to drive the continuous improvement of business performance and inform operations teams of optimization opportunities
  • Optimize cash metrics including ontime billing ontime collections and past due reductions
  • Maintain oversight of key operational processes such as Advance Release and key financial instruments such as bonds and bank guarantees
  • Partner with operations team on all settlement change orders liquidated damages cost of poor quality to achieve desired economic and financial outcomes
  • Partner closely with project Operations Finance (Project Finance Managers) for key processes such as: pacing/forecasting longterm financial planning Project Margin Reviews and accounting among others
  • Partner closely with Commercial and Commercial finance teams and finalize the operating plans and budgets for their portfolio ensure proper handover from ITO to OTR and provide feedback to help improve underwriting processes
  • Partner with FP&A to own the financial submissions for all planning cycles and pacing/punchlist calls and lead pacing updates for the pole
  • Provide pole or project specific knowledge to the project core team to execute and progress deals towards commercial closure
  • Prepare and support presentations (Op Plan Budget Long Range Forecasts and MORs) required to communicate Americas HDGT NU financial position and progress towards strategic operational and financial objectives to HDGT NU Gas Power and GE Vernova/Corporate leadership
  • Maintain systems & processes for analyzing and reporting operating results to management including partnering with IT to drive system automation and process optimization when needed
  • Lead the pursuit of excellence in controllership (e.g. adherence to GE policies regulatory compliance audit support transfer of best practices internal controls etc.
  • Recruit mentor develop and promote finance talent

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or other Businessrelevant degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with progressive responsibility in finance including 5 years in a finance leadership role.


Desired Characteristics:

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance from an accredited university or college
  • Gas Power business experience and/or projects business experience
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute concrete action plans
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure
  • Experience managing a multinational finance organization
  • Strong analytical project management and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

For U.S. based candidates only for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements the base pay range for this position is $147400..00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education geographic location and skill set.
This position is also eligible for a 15 annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 2/11/2025.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110120 or 130 of salary in certain areas.
