As we expand our portfolio across infectious diseases rare diseases and oncology we are seeking a Director Global Competitive Intelligence to lead Modernas commercial CI strategy across inline brands and pipeline assets. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring Moderna stays ahead in a dynamic and competitive global landscape.
This individual will lead the design and evolution of Modernas competitive intelligence capabilities within the Commercial organization. Acting as a strategic thought partner to Commercial and Portfolio leadership the Director will deliver foresight market insights and strategic recommendations to inform product positioning scenario planning and gotomarket strategies globally. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity drives crossfunctional alignment and influences without authority to shape Modernas competitive readiness and commercial success.
Heres What Youll Do
Own and lead the global competitive intelligence strategy for Commercial spanning inline brands and pipeline programs across geographies and therapeutic areas.
Monitor and analyze competitor pipelines clinical trial data regulatory strategies commercial activities and market trends to provide insights on competitive threats and opportunities.
Deliver competitor insights that inform product development launch strategies and lifecycle management across Modernas portfolio.
Represent the Competitive Intelligence function in key global Commercial planning forums providing strategic foresight that supports global brand and launch planning.
Evaluate the reliability of competitive intelligence research findings upholding stringent standards for accuracy relevance and quality in all deliverables and effectively communicate the level of evidence to stakeholders.
Drive intelligence gathering efforts in collaboration with regional teams ensuring insights are tailored to the nuances of both established and emerging markets.
Act as a strategic partner to global Commercial Portfolio and Therapeutic Area leaders to proactively shape positioning differentiation and launch readiness through competitive intelligence insights.
Present actionable insights that inform senior leaderships strategic decisions.
Lead strategic vendor partnerships ensuring delivery of highimpact insights while managing quality timelines and commercial alignment.
Continuously improve CI frameworks and methodologies leveraging digital tools and automation to ensure efficiency and accuracy in intelligence delivery.
Heres What Youll Need:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Life Sciences or a related field
10 years of progressive experience in competitive intelligence commercial strategy strategic insights or related roles in pharmaceuticals life sciences healthcare technology consulting or other innovationdriven sectors
Proven ability to lead competitive or market intelligence strategies that inform highstakes decisions ideally at a global scale
Strong understanding of product lifecycles market shaping and global dynamics with ability to quickly learn regulatory and drug development environments
Demonstrated success in translating data into strategic recommendations engaging executive stakeholders and influencing without authority
Experience managing CI vendors or external partners with an emphasis on quality timeliness and alignment to strategic goals
Strong crossfunctional collaboration skills across Medical Affairs Market Access Commercial and Clinical Development

Advanced degree (MBA MS PhD) in a relevant field
Experience with commercial strategy in life sciences biotech or adjacent industries
Familiarity with healthcare systems regulatory strategy or gotomarket models in complex environments
Familiarity with AIdriven CI platforms digital dashboards and foresight tools
Strategic leadership experience in matrixed global environments
