Job Description
The University of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic liberal arts university located in Leavenworth Kansas just 25 minutes away from Kansas City. POSITION SUMMARY:
PRN Athletic Trainer will serve in a on call role assisting the Athletic Training Department as needed. Will work under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer helping to perform professional level athletic training duties involved with prevention care evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.The primary role will be game coverage and hours available will be based on volume of sports competing and practicing during each season.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for providing first aid services injury evaluation and injury treatment.
- Responsible for appropriate return to play decisions.
- Document injuries treatments and rehabilitation.
- Attendance at practices and competitions as needed.
- Attend office hours for evaluations treatments and rehabilitation appointments as needed.
- Perform additional jobrelated duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- CPR/AED certified
- Certified BOC Athletic Trainer
- Graduate of a CAATE approved athletic training program
- Licensed or license eligible in the state of Kansas and Missouri
- Affinity for the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to complete USM Approved Drivers Certification
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability in the field of Athletic Training in the areas of taping evaluation of injuries and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
