Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a new faculty member to join our Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling program and our undergraduate Psychology program. An appointment in Psychology at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor is available on August 1 2023 in the Division of Science at IUPUC . Rank will be dependent on qualications and experience. The position is a twelvemonth teaching assignment with expectation of teaching graduate courses in mental health counseling and service to the program campus community and profession. Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative mindset are a must. The successful candidate will join a psychology faculty that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and a commitment to respective professional identities. The successful candidate will act as Director of Clinical Training for the graduate program administering the Schoellkopf Community Counseling Center; a state of the art 1200 square foot campusbased training clinic which opened in Fall 2020. The position will also work with the graduate program director to manage relationships with eld experience sites in the community. Given the service required of this position a 2 3 teaching load is required with the expectation of also teaching summer courses. Candidates must be sensitive to the needs of and possess an interest in working in an academic community that is diverse with regard to gender race ethnicity religion nationality sexual orientation or identity disability status and protected veteran status. IUPUC is a growing institution with high potential. A strong collaborative partnership among Ivy Tech Community College Purdue Polytechnic and IUPUC exists and is expected to be enriched. The Columbus Learning Center incorporates resources from IUPUC Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue Polytechnic to provide a focal point for community learning. This partnership is the result of a community initiative to expand postsecondary degree and professional development opportunities for the local workforce resulting in a seamless continuation of educational opportunities for area residents. IUPUC is located one hour south of Indianapolis 11/4 hours from Louisville and 11/2 hours from Cincinnati. Columbus is known for its worldclass architecture wonderful programs for young children many parks excellent philharmonic orchestra and people trails. IUPUC has a staff of 60 fulltime faculty with excellent credentials and enrolls 2000 students annually.
