Oklahoma Christian University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in several disciplines and assignments to courses for delivery through various modalities including oncampus and online. Required qualifications vary from department to department but a disciplinerelated masters degree or a combination of education and relevant professional experience are generally required. Candidates with terminal degrees and other specialized training are also highly desired. Adjunct appointments are parttime (typically one or two courses) and made on a semesterbysemester basis but often result in recurring assignments within a regular course rotation. Adjunct openings frequently occur with short notice so the Oklahoma Christian Human Resources office accepts adjunct applications at all times. This is an oncampus inperson position.
The Fletcher Centerfor Music is seeking Music adjuncts to teach at Oklahoma Christian University.The OC Music Program comprises 40 music majors four fulltime music faculty and 20 adjunct music instructors. The Music Program offers a BA in Music and a Bachelors of Music Education with Vocal or Instrumental emphasis. Primary Qualifications:
- Ph.D. Preferred. Candidates with ABD and those with a masters degree will also be considered.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial gender and cultural barriers
- Active engagement in a life of Christian faith and service including membership in a local church
- Teaching: Teach courses in the needed subject area at the undergraduate and graduate level
- Create and maintain appropriate educational records to document the academic performance of students observing appropriate confidentiality
- The successful candidate must be an active member of a local church.
Teaching Responsibilities: - Music Instructors typically teach halfhour or fullhour music instrumental or vocal lessons.
- Resolve problem situations between courses within the same level
- Teaches advises and mentors students at the clinical site in various learning experiences.
- Evaluates student performance and maintain department and student records per university policies.
- Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university.
- Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers.
- Provides a quality learning experience for students.
- Performs instructionrelated duties and responsibilities promptly
- Participate with the team in the evaluation of semester/term
- Participate in team meetings for coordination of classes during a given semester/term
- Complete all documents/surveys for program assessment
- Complete all orientation modules required for successful online and clinical learning
- Participate in professional development commensurate with program needs
- Engage in scholarly/creative activities

Qualifications: - Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Possess and demonstrate strong class piano vocal pedagogy piano pedagogy guitar ensembleinstrumental methods and other small music ensembles.
- Excellent communication skills including oral written and interpersonal to effectively and accurately represent
- Possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
- Able to assess student ability and adjust teaching as appropriate
