Job Description
- Reporting news stories:Researching interviewing sources and gathering information for news stories.
- Shooting video:Operating camera and audio equipment to capture footage of events and interviews.
- Editing video:Assembling footage using nonlinear editing software adding graphics and editing the story to a broadcastready format.
- Writing news copy:Crafting clear and concise written reports to accompany the video footage.
- Onair presentation:Delivering news reports live or prerecorded on television or other platforms.
- Story pitching:Identifying potential news stories and presenting them to newsroom management.
- Social media engagement:Sharing stories and interacting with viewers on social media platforms
- Selfsufficiency: Often working independently you are responsible for all aspects of your story production from start to finish.
- Adaptability to different platforms: Reporters need to tailor their stories for various media outlets including television online and social media.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and workrelated experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Adobe Premier knowledge
- Minimum two years experience in news reporting
- Superior onair presence
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift
