The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is responsible for assisting UnityPoint HealthDes Moines clients in achieving their best possible nutritional status through the application of a broad base of dietetic knowledge and primary goal of UnityPoint Health Des Moines is to improve the health of the community through healing caring and given by the Clinical Nutrition Specialist contributes directly toward the achievement of positive patient Clinical Nutrition Specialist serves as an expert on clinical nutrition through education and marketing to physicians patients students and other health given by clinical nutrition specialist contributes directly toward achieving this goal Best Outcome for Every Patient Every Time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in foods human nutrition or dietetics; food service management; or Institution Management.
Successful completion of a postgraduate or equivalent dietetic program that fulfills requirements for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Masters degree in Nutrition or related field or advanced dietitian certification within 1824 months of hire (preferred)
Experience:
Advanced level; specific to clinical specialty required.
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible inpatient clinical dietetic practice within the past five years (preferred)
License(s)/Certification(s):
Must be and maintain licensure as a Licensed Dietitian in the State of Iowa.
Must maintain registration status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Advanced certification within 1824 months of hire
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Writes reads comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Multicultural sensitivity.
Microsoft Office basic computer skills.
Customer/patient focused.
Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
Teamwork.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities.
