Job Description
Universal Orlando Resort believes inperson collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. There are also roles that require being onsite full time. Limited remote opportunities may be available within specific departments. Youll learn more about this during the recruitment process.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a key member of Parks Controllership this position plays an active role through all stages of the accounting process including close processes technical accounting consolidations control maintenance and oversight and financial statement creation and analysis using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Key contributor to the monthly and quarterly close process control maintenance and oversight including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations policy issuance and oversight investigating variances to expectations user access reviews and accounting error root cause analysis and implementation of financial controls.
- Provide insight and executive presentations to company leaders to ensure they have the most up to date and reliable information to make the best decisions possible.
- Record and report financial transactions and prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets profit and loss and subsidiary statements.
- Assist with NBCUniversal corporate reporting by compiling reviewing and analyzing requested financial information.
- Lead and assist in ad hoc projects designed to improve processes within the finance organization while also seeking to create buyin and build consensus among stakeholders.
- Assist with researching and documenting technical accounting considerations and conclusions.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in accounting is required.
- Masters degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years professional working experience in accounting is required;
- or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.
- Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm.
