As part of our Shared Services group comprised of Finance Marketing Communications Human Resources Commercial Legal and Facilities we support the business achieve their goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure delivery of services through the skills of our people methodologies and systems.
The Payroll Manager as a manager/doer is responsible for managing and defining the payroll process resources systems and distribution. This position will be responsible for all payroll related data and reporting and for ensuring the payroll system and process is updated to support the ongoing business needs and objectives.
Key functions:
- Lead and maintain dayto day payroll processingresponsible for all payroll pay related reporting tax filings and operations responsibility for ensuring accurate timely and compliant payroll processing and operations.
- Partner with all relevant departments (HR Finance HRIS & Operations) to ensure that the needs of our organization are being relayed to our thirdparty vendors specific to payroll.
- Oversee the tax filings and set up new state accounts.
- 401K administrator
- Organize and direct the operations and activities of the Payroll Department by managing and coordinating the activities of the payroll staff and manage workload to meet operational requirements.
- Manage payroll processes to ensure best practices accuracy and that all authorized transactions are processed without omissions. Authorize pending payrolls for processing.
- Manage the Inpats and Expats payroll while working closely with the Mobility team to ensure accurate payroll processing including Shadow employees.
- Help drive process improvements and streamline activities
- Coach mentor and develop the payroll team
- Oversee vendor approvals
- Help allocate work for new projects and adhoc requests
Experience in the following an asset:
- 58 years of Payroll experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business a plus
- Ceridian Dayforce Payroll and Onboarding SAP and SuccessFactors
- Multistate payroll with a high volume of domestic movement between states and externally between countries
- Regular payroll audits and support of audits for Workers Compensation FAR and 401K audits
- 401K processing and understanding or the legalities surrounding the processing of Payroll & 401k
- CPP certification preferred
- Using and creating basic pivot tables and importing and exporting data reports
