Summary
The Sales and Market Development Representative plays a crucial role in expanding Stumptowns Wholesale business by developing and nurturing relationships within the assigned market. This position focuses on driving sales growth and achieving profitability targets in collaboration with the regional team. Responsibilities include prospecting and acquiring new wholesale accounts through diverse channels as well as strengthening relationships with existing clients. To succeed in this role the Sales and Market Development Representative collaborates closely with account representatives inside sales teams production staff training personnel and thirdparty service providers to ensure seamless support for sales and account management activities within the region. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sales customer relationships and market development and who thrive in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Essential Functions
In partnership with the Market sales team develop and deploy the sales strategy based upon gotomarket and wholesale partnership principles to generate sales leads and build upon existing business to achieve sales and profitability targets for assigned market.
Responsible for lead vetting and converting leads to opportunities.
Maintain a priority based schedule for meeting with prospective customers; effectively manage new prospect meetings and appointments.
Organize and maintain key initiatives around opportunities targets and geographies.
Develop a firm understanding of products and services offered and demonstrate this understanding in the sales process.
Follow the Stumptown sales cycle from prospect to new account to rollout.
Share enthusiasm for selling and enjoying our coffee; hold regular coffee tastings including cuppings and drip tastings with customers and prospective customers.
Facilitate espresso equipment procurement with wholesale customers via thirdparty providers.
Ensure coffee quality among accounts through providing access to educational offerings.
Improve Stumptowns customer relationships with a focus on revenue and profitability growth.
Maintaining Stumptown partnership community by hosting events for partners in the local area.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
35 years or equivalent sales experience. Coffee or food and beverage industry required.
Proven ability to hit sales targets and grow sales profitably.
Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee.
Experience with assigned regional markets channels and geography preferred.
Desire to educate others about our coffees and espresso methods.
Ability to manage and prioritize daily and weekly tasks.
Basic technical aptitude or willingness to learn equipment details.
Basic understanding of financial concepts and P&L management.
Valid drivers license a clean driving record and a reliable vehicle if needed.
Experience and proficiency with Stumptown espresso preparation standards preferred.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit continuously at a computer.
Able to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
Work takes place in office and customer settings. This position is based in Los Angeles California and will spend on average half of their time working on the computer and half of their time working in the field.
May occasionally require travel via car and/or airline 510 standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and occasional overnight hotel stays.
Ability to occasionally work outside of standard business hours on an adhoc basis to address urgent business needs on weekends and evenings.
