Job Description

Worcester Technical High School is soliciting applications for theschool year. The successful applicant will be accountable for teaching students the Plumbing Chapter 74 Career Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Plumbing Department Head at Worcester Technical High School.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other repsonsibilities)1. Responsible for the delivery of instruction of plumbing techniques in both Shop and Related Theory in accordance with departmental curriculum objectives and the MA Chapter 74 CVTE Curriculum Frameworks.2. Utilizing MA curriculum Plumbing frameworks.3. Establish and maintain a professional classroom/shop environment with an emphasis on shop safety strong work ethic and mastery of skills.4. Attend General Advisory Committee meetings.5. Ensure knowledge in the latest Plumbing laws and regulations through conferences workshops and other professional development opportunities.6. Establish and implement specific goals in accordance with districtwide schoolwide and department requirements.7. Support the Department Head in recommending program improvement equipment & supply purchases and grant preparation.8. Responsible for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race color gender age religion national origin gender identity marital status sexual orientation disability or homelessness.9. Perform other duties as assigned.10.Responsible for assuring equal education opportunities to all individuals; regardless of race gender age marital status religion gender identity natural origin sexual orientation homelessness or disability.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Massachusetts teachers licensure in Plumbing Chapter 74 or the ability to obtain within one year.2. Possession of a current MA Journeymans Plumbing License.3. Possession of a current MA Master Plumber license4. Curriculum development experience and knowledge of integration of technical competencies with curriculum frameworks.5. Five years of fulltime employment experience directly related to Plumbing. 6. Competency in software and programming applications related to electricity.7. Competency in the use of computer applications and instructional technology to aid in the interactive delivery of instruction.8. Incorporate fundamentals of Plumbing law into the delivery of curriculum instruction.9. SEI Endorsement10. High School Diploma or equivalentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Familiar with blended learning environment2. Advanced educational preparation.3. Evidence of educational leadership.4. Evidence of good human relation skills.5. Ability to develop & deliver instruction that helps to ensure program enrollment growth.6. Evidence of or ability to meet industryrecognized credentials.7. Authorized 10 & 30 Hour OSHA General Industry Trainer.8. Strong documentation and organizational skills.9. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.10.Ability to speak Albanian Arabic Nepali Portuguese Spanish Vietnamese or an African Language11.Experience teaching students who are English language learners12.Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.13.Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Candidates will need to apply for and pay for the DESE license as a condition of employment.SALARY: Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelors Degree.
