Job Description
SGM is seeking a fulltime Civil/Site Development Engineer I or II in Grand Junction Colorado. This position requires a degree in civil engineering. The ideal candidate will help forward SGMs mission to make its clients successful by delivering practical innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to live work and play in Western Colorado.
- Depending on experience level the anticipated salary range for this position may be as follows: Engineer I $74000 $82000 per year / Engineer II $78000 $91300per year
Requirements
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
- EI Certification or ability to obtain in the first year of employment
- Minimum 2years engineering work experience
- Organized fast learner and detail oriented
- Executes welldefined technical and engineering tasks
- Strong familiarity and working knowledge in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software with an interest to expand CAD knowledge base
- Experience in surface water hydrology and hydraulic analysis and design
- Selfreview of work and understanding of review by fellow engineers
- Produce deliverables such as plans specifications or reports
- Strong written and oral communication skills via emails phone and inperson
- Excellent client service skills for design meetings coordination with other consultants and the client
- Ability to coordinate and schedule other subtasks
- Valid Driver License
- Able to conduct site visits on specific inspection tasks such as erosion control
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Colorado PE license in civil engineering or related field
- Willingness to represent SGM positively in the industry and local community
- Desire to provide industryleading engineering services and become an integral part of the overall SGM team
- Surveying experience
- GPS/GIS experience
- Septic System (OWTS) design certification
- Construction project administration and oversight experience
- Masters degree in civil engineering or related field
- Municipal engineering experience
- An active member of relevant professional organizations
- Demonstrated initiative and participation in community involvement and outreach
- Software experience/proficiency
- Hydrologic modeling software (HECRAS HECHMS or similar)
- MS Office software such as Word and Excel
