Job Description:

If you are a seeking a position to use your Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field with growth opportunities Copeland has an exciting position for you!

This position will focus on mechanical design and will work in the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) organization. Based in Sidney OH this role is an integral part in the design development integration and continuous improvement of quality engineered systems and processes. This position will collaborate with crossfunctionals teams to identify design requirements and user needs. You will design and deliver sustainable solutions that optimize cost capital investment and flexibility using computer aided design (CAD). This engineer will be providing quality system fixturing and tooling designs for a wide variety of gauging systems including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other highprecision highaccuracy gauging systems. This engineer will explore and research the dynamic technologies and trends in the mechanical design spectrum surrounding integrated gauging technologies.

As an Advanced Manufacturing Quality Engineer You Will:

  • Use CAD software to develop models technical drawings equipment layouts fixturing and simulations. These designs shall meet all specifications for a turnkey solution in an automated manufacturing environment.

  • Ensure design drawings and revisions are completely accurate and up to date.

  • Develop bill of materials and translation documents related to new or changed designs.

  • Proactively collaborate with crossfunctionals teams within the department to identify user needs and design requirements. Support design validations and implementations to manufacturing sites for strategic and new product development programs.

  • Analyze new product designs to generate/evaluate prototypes and produce technical drawings/specifications that minimize impact to existing production processes

  • Leverage customer interactions to incorporate human factors and usercentered design philosophies into design efforts.

Required Education Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field plus two 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrate the ability to use 2D/3D CAD programs (AutoCAD NX or equivalent)

  • Interpret technical drawings with a practical understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles

  • Ability to learn quickly to remain relevant in a constantly evolving environment

  • Demonstrates strong Mechanical Engineering and design skills

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to maintain a dedicated commitment to consistently producing excellent work

  • Effective planning skills with the ability to lead multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse work groups

  • Shown digital literacy including Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint)

  • Legally Authorization to work in the United States Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Preferred Education Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline field plus four 4 years of validated experience

  • Work experience in manufacturing and automated industrial processes.

  • Knowledge of FEA and design simulation / optimization routines.

  • Exposure to Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or other gauging instruments

  • Basic understanding of LEAN principles and practices

  • Demonstrates strong multitasking capabilities and organizational skills.

  • Position requires travel up to 1020 of the time for business purposes (domestic and international).

Core Hours

You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.
