Job Description Team Leader IOO Market Operations Static Data Team
Summary
Working within the Outsourcing Department serving the Operations function for a range of Investment Management clients. Ability to understand customer segments and apply different servicing approaches based on customer knowledge level. Continuously develop industry/product knowledge; continually aim to improve the service offered to our clients and the systems and processes to achieve efficiencies and manage risk.
This role is for the IOO Department within EMEA Market Operations. EMEA Static Data team provides operational support in respect of handling Account openings / Broker Setups/ Account terminations / custody agent change/ client onboarding and other queries from the Investment Managers. This position reports to the Section Manager of the IOO Market Operations India team. Analytically and procedurally competent representing the team on crossfunction process.
Major Duties
Setup of new accounts on behalf of the Investment Managers and ensure all the static set ups are in place in WTS Finistra DTCC Alert etc. before the account goes live
Sets up trading systems fix errors fails and kicked out exceptions and ongoing maintenance
Removal or offboarding of accounts by disconnecting linkages for closed accounts
Work closely with the custodians/brokers to have their Standard settlement instructions (SSIs) in place during a setup or amend current Reference data due to market /local agent changes
Liaise with Investment managers for setting up of counterparties / brokers within our internal and external applications to facilitate trading activities
Assist Investment Managers with ad hoc queries by demonstrating complete understanding of Web Trade Services (WTS) application and client specific bespoke setups
Involvement in performing quality checks of all activities performed within the team including EOD checks and follow control mechanisms.
Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) responsible for handling the day to day tasks and opening of accounts for an Investment Operations group.
Records all events in accordance with the records maintained on Daily Log.
Corrects errors investigate and work through ASL/claims from external/internal parties
Carries out complex activities with significant financial client and/or internal business impact
Have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management
Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees
May manage daily operational activities and supervise daytoday work of junior level employees
More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas
Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions regarding BAU (but not limited to) work allocation leaves project deliverables etc.
Responsible for identifying and resolving problems within established guidelines
Works effectively as a team member but also independently drive initiatives/projects including process improvements
Attain knowledge of the core aspects of the job
Building effective working relationship with offshore partners and other relevant partner areas
Provides hands on training for new staff and cross training for experienced staff
Flexible for stretch assignments and shift timings
Demonstrate through examples /evidence analytical ability problem solving and escalation of issues
Demonstrate through examples /evidence of strong operations knowledge including secondary review & controls risks & mitigation
Demonstrate through examples /evidence day to day team management mentor/coach team members and sharing feedback
Knowledge/Skills
A College or University degree and/or relevant Investment Operations work experience is .
Attention to detail ability to perform stringent and exhaustive secondary review responsibilities excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to work in demanding situations with time sensitive deadlines. Ability to interpret complex process guidelines/handle exceptions while processing.
Excellent communication (verbal and written skills .
Proficiency in working on Industry Utilities like DTCC CTM and Alert Finistra etc.
Good knowledge of Trade Lifecycle and its participants Global markets clearing institutions and SWIFT Network /Standards.
Exposure to OMS and middle office applications such as Murex Aladdin and Saphyre will be preferred.
Highly flexible and adaptable to change. Must be resilient to pressure and have the ability to adapt quickly.
Accuracy and attention to details at all times and effectively manage deadlines.
Experience Required
A minimum of 6 years of experience in Trade confirmations settlement and operations domain.
Candidates with relevant experience on Banking operations/ Trade services/ account setups / SSIs Setups / client onboarding having exposure to work on the Investment Manager Broker or custodys end will be preferred.
