Summary of Job Duties:

An Assistant Professor of Marketing 9month) position is responsible for teaching in the marketing curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The university expects instructional excellence and scholarly output appropriate for a school with AACSB accreditation of its undergraduate and graduate programs.
This position serves an external facing role as the Director of the Center for Professional Sales. The person filling this position must reestablish the Sales Center Advisory Board engage the community in placing sales students and assist in the management of the State Farm Professional Skills Lab (student professional sales lab). This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. degree in Marketing or closely related field from an AACSBaccredited school.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Teaching experience;

  • Professional work experience supporting teaching assignments;

  • Record of research.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach required courses per semester (fall and spring) of which 2 to 3 may be different courses; classes take place in the mornings at night 1 night/week) and/or online. During the summers (subject to funding departments needs and availability) all fulltime faculty members including Instructors may teach an additional two courses for 15 of their 9month salary;

  • Publish in scholarly journals;

  • Serve on University College and Department committees;

  • Engage with regional business community;

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to provide instructional excellence in undergraduate/graduate courses in areas of specialization;

  • Commitment to students success;

  • Research agenda consistent with expectations of an AACSBaccredited program;

  • Commitment to remaining current in the area of expertise and instruction;
