Location:Allegheny County/Shaler region (location determined based on business needs and where you reside)
Employment Type:FullTime Hourly
Pay Rate & Type: $16.08$18.08 (based on experience and credentialing)

Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will play a critical role in supporting Achievas mission by providing direct care and personalized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community setting ensuring their health safety and welfare. This position will involve assisting with daily living activities transporting individuals to appointments and participating in recreational activities and will require strong interpersonal skills compassion and a commitment to advocacy.
- Career Development:Opportunities for advancement through the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) certification program with pay rate increases upon completion of each certification/module (DSP I: .50 increase DSPII: .50 increase DSP III: $1.00 increase).
Key Responsibilities
- Understands supports and advocates with people we support by helping them live a life of personal significance.
- Identifies documents and shares concerns and successes as appropriate.
- Transports and accompanies people to activities appointments and events.
- Helps with personal care tasks as needed including bathing laundry and food preparation.
- Assists with money management by promoting independence.
- Administers medications and documents information.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The equivalent of a High School Diploma is required. Ability to complete one person transfers is required. One year of related experience is preferred. Reliable transportation is essential. A valid drivers license is preferred. Must meet Act 33 and 34 requirements.
