The Behavioral Health Department provides mental health and substance use services for people with MediCal and without insurance and supports people along their path to wellness recovery and resilience.
The Environmental Health Department works to keep our air water and food safe; it regulates protects and promotes the health of everyone in Alameda County by enforcing environmental health codes to reduce exposure to toxins and diseases.
The Public Health Department focuses on community and populationlevel health preventing and addressing root causes of health inequity across a range of communicable and chronic diseases.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
As part of Alameda County Health the Emergency Medical Services Agency (EMS) works to ensure robust and timely access to ambulance services for all Alameda County residents and leads the agencys emergency preparedness and response work. We are EMTs paramedics doctors program administrators and paramedics in training.
Alameda County Health Emergency Medical Services Agency (AC Health EMS) is a District within Alameda County Health. We are recognized by theCalifornia Emergency Medical Services Authorityas a Local EMS Agency or LEMSA. LEMSAs throughout the state are responsible for planning implementing evaluating and regulating local EMS systems. Many of our responsibilities and the authority needed to carry our oversight role are derived from Division 2.5 of the California Health and Safety Code and related chapters of Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations.

The Alameda County Health EMS System is comprised of many stakeholders including dispatch centers first responder agencies ambulance providers hospitals and specialty centers for the emergency care of victims of major trauma stroke and certain serious heartconditions. The Alameda County Health EMSAgency coordinatesthe comprehensive emergency medical services system through its contracted and permitted provider organizations as well as through the development and implementation of policies and procedures for prehospital care.
The EMSAgency works closely with systemstakeholders as it seeks to continually improve patient care and service delivery through evidencebased policy and program development.
AC Health EMS promotes health equity through itsInjury Prevention Programas well as itsEMS CorpsandHealth Pathway Partnershipprograms which help prepare young people in underserved communities for careers in health care.
THE POSITION:
Under the direction of the Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or a subordinate manager positions in this classification facilitate the operations of the programs of the Emergency Medical Services District a division of Alameda County Health and the Local Emergency Medical Services Agency for Alameda County. Employees in this classification are responsible for helping to ensure the effective efficient and cohesive delivery of emergency medical services by all hospitals public safety agencies and private providers to the visitors and citizens of Alameda County.
THE VACANCIES
The current Emergency Medical Services Coordinator vacancies are located in Alameda County Health. However the eligiblelist resulting from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies inother program areas and departments.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
In addition to meeting theminimum qualifications below the ideal candidatewill havedemonstrated a track record of success andwill possess the followingcritical attributes:
Experience:
The equivalent of three 3 years of fulltime progressively responsible experience performing duties that included program design planning implementation and/or evaluation in a health care organization focused on the provision of emergency medical services or in a 911 dispatch center that performs emergency medical dispatch.
AND
EITHER I
License:
Possession of a current valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
OR II
Possession of a current valid license as an EMTparamedic in the State of California.
OR III
Possession of a current valid certification as an EMTBasic in the State of California.
OR IV
Possession of a current valid EMD certification.
OR V
Possession of a current valid license as a Physicians Assistant in the State of California.
AND
Possession of a valid California Drivers license is required.
