Job Summary
The Evergreen State College seeks parttime adjunct faculty to teach three courses in fisheries science the 202526 academic year. The College is looking to hire one person or a combination of hires to teach all three courses: 4 credits in fall 4 in winter and 8 in spring. These offerings are a part of the Marine Bioresources certificate program within Evergreens school of Professional and Continuing Education. (To learn more about the certificate visit: . All three hybrid courses incorporate online and inperson classes including allday inperson Saturday sessions. The Saturday classes include field and/or lab activities. Online content can be delivered as a mix of synchronous and asynchronous instruction. Please see the course descriptions: Students in these courses are expected to have previously completed 8 credits in collegelevel biology with lab. All three courses are expected to provide upper division undergraduate level content in fisheries sciences which includes the reading and analysis of peerreviewed scientific literature and data analysis in field or lab activities. Successful applicants will be passionate about exploratory cooperative approaches to teaching and learning; be able to maintain a high standard of content relevance for diverse learners; and demonstrate excellence in prior academic and/or professional experience in marine biology or related fields.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in marine biology biology fisheries biology environmental sciences natural resource management or related fields with 3 years work experience in hatchery operations fisheries management or relevant agency/industry regulatory position
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in marine biology biology fisheries biology environmental sciences natural resource management or related fields Knowledge of Washington State tribal relations as relevant to fisheries Expertise in finfish and shellfish fisheries and aquaculture principles Experience working with diverse and underserved populations Experience teaching at the postsecondary level
