About the role:
The Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviours (HSB) Program provides a specialist traumasafe and culturallysafe response to children and young people who are displaying harmful sexual behaviours. The service provides opportunities for healing support counselling and a therapeutic response; working holistically with all those around the child or young person.
The Specialist HSB Program assists children and young people and adults to recover from the harmful impacts of trauma and assists families and communities to support children and young people in the healing process.
The Counsellor will be responsible for ensuring the provision of professional child/young people adult and family counselling services in consultation with the Principal Practitioner and Pilbara Services Manager.
Child young people families/caregivers and communities are empowered to take control of their own healing journey and are supported in building strength and resilience through connection to culture. The HSB program will pilot a specialist therapeutic intervention program for children and young people aged 10 17 years exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours where services will support connection between key partner agencies to enable coordinated wrap around support for the children and their families.
This is a Permanent FullTime opportunity based in South Hedland WA within our Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviour Porgram. The position reports to the Clinical Coordinator Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviour Program.
