Job Description
Xavier Universitys Office of Physical Plant is seeking a fulltime Groundskeeper I position to maintain a safe and beautiful campus according to Xaviers standards. Includes but not limited to sports fields landscaping and mow crew assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Apply chemicals top soil grades surfaces prepares seed beds plants bulbs weeds flower beds trim and remove shrubs hedges and trees.
- Operates hand and power tools to cut trim edge grass and turf.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all established safety procedures.
- Lifts or moves heavy equipment or material unassisted up to 125 pounds.
- Picks up litter remove trash and recycling.
- Remove snow and apply ice melt.
- Services and repairs cleans and performs daily and preventative maintenance on grounds equipment and shop.
- Assists other departments in related activities.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid drivers license and driving record deemed insurable under Xaviers Vehicle Use & Driver Policy.
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
