Job Description
The Syracuse University Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence CTLE invites applications for a faculty developer specializing in studentsaspartners (SaP) in higher education. This position will coordinate and expand the current CTLE Students Consulting on Teaching SCOT program; develop and direct additional SaP CTLE programs; develop and direct SaPfocused collaborations with other campus centers and offices; and create and facilitate SaPfocused and equityminded professional development programs and resources drawing on evidencebased SaP scholarship of teaching and learning/scholarship of educational development and inclusive pedagogical practices. The successful candidate will be highly effective at communicating and collaborating with a variety of diverse constituencies (including undergraduate students staff and faculty); will actively contribute to a positive productive workplace; and will consistently execute the CTLEs mission and vision.
Responsibilities
Recruit student and faculty partners for the Students Consulting on Teaching SCOT program Maintain and update as needed online student consultant training modules (preparing students to facilitate small group instructional feedback administer early course feedback surveys and give input to faculty after class observations) Schedule and facilitate inperson kickstart events for students and for faculty Oversee the Student Consultant payroll; assist Consultants on an asneeded basis in partnering communicating and scheduling with faculty Develop and maintain CTLE collaborations with other offices and centers engaged in StudentsasPartners (SaP) programs including but not limited to providing support for First Year Seminar Instructors and Peer Leaders; and originate develop and coordinate additional CTLE SaP programs including but not limited to designing and overseeing CTLE internships and a student advisory group or think tank Create and facilitate SaPfocused equityminded professional development for Syracuse University staff faculty students and graduate students including but not limited to workshops and curated online resources based on scholarship of teaching and learning expertise and established best practices in SaP; conduct consultations with individual faculty members on utilizing SaP in their teaching practices and course design Participate in data analysis and reporting including but not limited to gathering and making available for CTLE impact reports feedback from students and faculty including video testimonials about SaP programs; apply as needed input for assessing and updating SCOT program systems and all other SaP programming Other duties as assigned.
