Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro UNCG is seeking to fill a tenuretrack faculty position in the area of Inorganic Chemistry Bioinorganic Chemistry or related research field at the rank of assistant professor with an anticipated start date of August 1 2025. A PhD in Chemistry Biochemistry or related field is a requirement for the position. Applicants should demonstrate a solid track record of publications and should show promise for establishing an independent and externally funded research program. Applicants will be expected to mentor masters and doctoral research students and to contribute to the departments longstanding strength in undergraduate research and training. Additionally the successful hire will demonstrate teaching excellence at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. A competitive startup package will be provided. The position is contingent on expected available funding. The department ( features an extremely supportive and collegial environment with 13 fulltime tenure track faculty and a diverse student body. We offer a BS in Biochemistry a BA BS and MS in Chemistry including biochemistry options and a PhD in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Our department is housed in a 170000 square foot state of the art science building. Excellent core instrumentation and state of the art facilities for NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry with full time support staff are available on site.
