- 2nd and 3rd shifts
Position Overview:
As a Medical Technologist or Medical Technician youll play a crucial role in performing a variety of lab tests across multiple departments including molecular chemistry coagulation hematology special chemistry urinalysis and serology. Youll work diligently to ensure the accuracy and reliability of results following strict quality assurance guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee testing across all lab departments (molecular chemistry coagulation hematology special chemistry urinalysis serology) while adhering to prescribed quality assurance procedures.
- Conduct routine quality control checks (daily weekly and monthly) and ensure maintenance of temperature logs specimen rotation and disposal of expired specimens.
- Evaluate test results verifying their validity against expected outcomes as outlined in procedure manuals.
- Maintain troubleshoot and calibrate lab equipment to ensure peak performance.
- Manage inventory of reagents calibrators controls and other supplies ensuring all items are restocked and readily available.
- Participate in the preparation testing and evaluation of new reagents or controls.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Must be ASCP or AMT certified.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry Medical Technology or a related field (or 24 credits in Chemistry/Biology meeting CLIA requirements).
- Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment.
- Proficient in using computers; experience with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail excellent communication and organizational skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive pay: $25 $35/hour plus shift differential (based on experience)
