Job Description
Electrical Designer Medium Voltage
Purpose:
As an Electrical Drafter/Designer supporting the Energy Division at Knobelsdorff (KE) you will play a vital role in transforming engineering designs into detailed construction documents. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders andutilize software such as AutoCAD Bluebeam and Autodesk Revit to model equipment raceways and layouts in both 2D and 3D. Yourexpertisewill drive the creation of system designs equipment specification trench layouts and schedules for panels and conduits ensuring that all documentation is precise and ready for .
Working closely with our PreConstruction and Project teams you will contribute to designbuild projects by reconciling designintent models with asbuilt conditions supporting selfperformand field teams. With projects nationwide including behindthemeter Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Community Solar Gardens (CSG) and Distributed Generation (DG) solar energy your work will directlyimpactthe successful of renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Verify vendor quotes and provide submittal packages
- Participate in customer/client design review meetings and presentations
- Assistin leading/managing engineering needs to ensure final product matches the KEWay design
- Sizing conduit/cable to serve electrical equipment such asCombinersInvertersSwitchgearand Transformers
- Interpret equipmentspecifications and customer requirements to ensure equipment and conduit spacingand connections areproperly detailed.
- Act as a bridge from estimating to operations or concept to reality
- Complete conceptual engineering and/or design for the following:
- Communications / Fiber
- Medium Voltage Distribution systems
- MV metering
- Reclosers
- Overhead / Riser Poles
- Vacuum Fault Interrupters
- Metal Clad MV Switchgear
- MV transformers
- Various MV Cable Types and terminations
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Knowledge of substation apparatus preferred
- Experience with Special systems such as Networking cabling DAS Ground systems
Requirements:

- Experience withBlueBeam Revit AutoCADSmartsheets and Procore
- A knowledge of electricaland/orautomation construction practices orsolarelectrical work.
- Knowledge of the NEC
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management staff and customers
- Effectively communicate using various methods including but not limited to Microsoft Teams email text or phone calls
- Exceptional verbal written and presentation skills
- Manage project files drawings documents & records in our project system
- Journeymanor MastersElectricians License a degree in Project Management Construction Management Electrical Engineering or related or equivalent combination of field experience/education
- Excellent time management and project tasking
- Must be selfmotivated and flexible to accommodateproject deadlinesorchanges in KE business strategies
- Ability to problem solve and take accountability for decisions on projects.
- Possess andmaintaina valid driving license
- Ability to pass a preemployment drug screen and criminal background check
- Ability to have team first mentality
- Ability to teach and mentor other members of the group
- Open to occasional travel
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit stand kneel stoop walk and sit forlong periodsof time.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
