Summary: Join our team as a Plumber! Install maintain and repair plumbing systems including water gas drainage and steam. Skilled in blueprints troubleshooting and plumbing tools. NM Journeyman Plumbing License required.
Classification Summary:
Under general supervision responsible for the installation maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems and fixtures. Requires the ability to understand and work from blueprints and specifications. Knowledgeable of uniform plumbing codes. Frequently reports to a Maintenance Supervisor.
Classification Standard Duties:
Installs repairs and maintains chilled water steam heat water gas drainage sewage and other plumbing systems. Operates reamers threading discs sewer tapes pipe cutters snakes and other plumbing equipment and hand tools. Inspects joints valves pumps boilers heaters sinks commodes tanks valves and other plumbing system components to locate malfunctions and repairs or replaces when necessary. Studies plans drawings specifications and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations. Performs preventative maintenance work as required.
Required Education Experience Certification/License Equivalency
Required Education:High School diploma or GED certificate.; Required Experience:Two 2 years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.; Equivalency:None; Required Certification/License:NM Journeyman Plumbing License or NM Journeyman Gas Fitter License. A valid NM Drivers License is a requirement for the job.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of steam water natural gas fire hydrant fire sprinkler and waste water distribution systems maintenance and repair.; SKILLS:Skilled in the installation maintenance and repair of steam water natural gas fire hydrant and waste water distribution systems.; ABILITIES:Ability to perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelines. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Ability to read understand follow and enforce safety procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Plumber is responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of plumbing systems including chilled water steam gas drainage and sewage systems. This includes operating plumbing tools inspecting components diagnosing malfunctions and performing preventative maintenance. The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications ensure compliance with plumbing codes and collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor on work priorities.
