WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelors degree plus minimum 4 years of experience in fundraising in a nonprofit setting with a track record of professional growth.
  • Minimum three 3 years of proficiency with donor management or CRM platforms/software; Salesforce experience highly desired
  • Valid drivers license and/or access to alternative means of transportation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Vice President (VP) Development the Development Officer for Individual Giving is responsible for the strategy cultivation solicitation and managing relationships with potential and existing donors to secure financial support with individuals giving $500 to $9999 from a portfolio of donors and prospects in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Leading campaigns and other fundraising efforts to secure and expand donor capacity engagement and philanthropy and build a strong pipeline of future major donors. This role will also support and manage fundraising efforts from our Pro Bono Advisory Council (PBAC).

Your daytoday responsibilities

75 Donor Relationships

  • Develops implements and executes strategies for a portfolio of donors and prospects with planned touchpoints prompt acknowledgement timely solicitation with a premium placed on donor retention increased giving and identification of major gift donor prospects.
  • Works with VP Development to develop and achieve revenue goals associated with portfolio as well as forecasting.
  • Manages relationships with portfolio of current and prospective individual donors in Los Angeles and Orange counties using multiple channels including phone calls email letters and notes special invitations follow up on survey responses social media and video and/or facetoface meetings while also engaging donors through consistent stewardship and active cultivation to increase support achieve fundraising revenue goals and enhance donor experience.
  • Manages Pro Bono Advisory Council (PBAC) relationships as part of portfolio.
  • Develops implements and executes personalized digital engagement and marketing strategies tailored to a midlevel donor audience.
  • Ensures appropriate and consistent donorcentric communications in all channels and materials such as acknowledgement stewardship and customer service. Participates in writing editing and image sourcing as appropriate to portfolio or as directed.
  • Determines which donors would benefit from more personalization and increased frequency of contact and develop; implements and executes appropriate relationship action plan.
  • Works with appropriate staff to develop and implement analysis on financial trends key performance indicators (KPIs) and testing successes; ensures datadriven decisionmaking with donor development and engagement.
  • Identifies current and future strategies to continuously strengthen portfolio relationships and increase fundraising revenue.
  • Participates in and supports all internal and external donor related events and activities.
  • Supports the Development team with other duties as assigned.

25 Administrative Duties

  • Provides regular updates to VP Development and Individual Giving team regarding solicitations relationship management strategies and requests for engagement or stewardship with other staff.
  • Updates Salesforce with donor touchpoints such as notes from calls interactions meetings emails or new/updated information about donors and prospects.
  • Reports and tracks portfolio fundraising progress using contact reports prospect management and other communication tools to ensure efficient and effective communication with appropriate team members.
  • And other duties as assigned.
