The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Finance team is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Budget Analyst position to manage fiscal operations of multiple departments and support college level finance related activities.
About Us: The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is a collaborative vibrant community of faculty students and staff across 21 departments and one professional school. The Fiscal Operations team supports the Colleges mission by providing services and stewardship of its financial resources.
Example of Duties
Provides analytical support for the more complex budget projects.
Works directly with major department managers.
Analyzes operating costs and provides recommends to leadership for funding modifications.
Consults with units or departments regarding budget analysis financial reports reconciliations unusual transactions and problem resolutions.
Consults with units or departments to coordinate the preparation of operating budgets discuss previous budget figures estimates expense and other factors.
Analyzes budget expenditures against actuals for estimated available funds. Advises leadership on the availability of funds for unplanned and unfunded initiatives.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
Level Guidelines
Seniorlevel position possessing highlevel professional and/or technical skills working independently under minimal supervision to support ISUs mission and department or work unit goals
Applies seniorlevel professional knowledge and expertise to work requiring greater latitude
Solves moderately complex problems and regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action
Regularly exercises judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action on a broad set of issue and problems. May provide recommendations regarding problems/issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices
Responds to complicated inquiries provides training and provides direction to lowerlevel staff
May provide supervision for one to two other staff (i.e. leads a small work team)
May lead projects for which welldefined practices and procedures may not exist
Provides guidance to students
