Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Subject: TEACHERS: HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL SUMMER 2025 Contingent upon funding and adequate enrollment the Office of Teaching and Learning will provide a high school summer school program for all students in grades 912 needing credit recovery opportunities. High School Summer School is for high school students who have not met academic requirements for coursework needed to graduate. Teachers are needed to instruct in the program. The High School Summer School will run MondayFriday from June 30th July 31st (with the exception of July 3rd and 4th) at Brockton High School. The number of teachers is dependent on student enrollment.There will be a required training session on a date to be determined prior to the start of the program. Ten 10 hours of compensation at the contractual hourly rate will be paid for training and lesson preparation. The program (student hours) will run from 7:30 am 11:30 pm daily. Teacher hours are 5 hours per day 7:00 am12:00 pm). Teachers will be responsible for program delivery and evaluation. QUALIFICATIONS:1.Teaching license from the MA DESE2.Ability to infuse digital literacy development into instruction3.Experience teaching English Language Arts Mathematics Social Studies Science ESL and/or Health at the middle school or high school level using the identified HQIMs for the content area. 4.Knowledge of Character Strong and ability to utilize it during the program5.Ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and student mentors to support students and families throughout the program. 6.Prior experience teaching in a summer program is preferred7.Must commit to work the entire program and attend training DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Lead instruction using the identified HQIMs for the content area2.Collaboratively plan lessons3.Provide inclass instruction and/or support 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. 4.Participate in planning from 7:00 am 7:30 am.5.Participate in planning from 11:30 am 12:00 pm while students are dismissed. 6.Monitor and report student progress7.Attend up to 10 hours of training and planning before the start of the summer program.8.Complete and submit documentation forms to the program supervisor as needed9.Other duties as directed by the program supervisor Compensation:Stipend $4500 Funding Source: Local
