Job Title: Light Equipment Operator
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Light Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for operating a variety of light construction equipment to assist in the completion of projects. Your expertise in safely and efficiently operating machinery along with a strong attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate light construction equipment such as skid steers miniexcavators and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment at job sites.
- Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with manual labor tasks as needed when equipment is not in use.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area including the storage of equipment and tools.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating light construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g. OSHA certification).
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs.
