The Patient Services Coordinator performs clerical and patient service tasks at the front desk of University Health Services and provides customer service for a diverse population of university age patients in a university setting. They coordinate all operational support functions in a patient care area such as overseeing the environmental conditions of the office and patient waiting areas coordinating nonmedical equipment repairs inventorying and ordering supplies assisting in the orientation of new staff to clerical procedures.

This is a 9month cyclic position.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two consecutive years of medical office experience
  • Strong written and speaking communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in dynamic work environment
  • Experience performing complex scheduling
  • Understanding and experience working within FERPA and/or HIPAA requirements
  • Experience using an electronic medical record
  • Demonstrated ability to advance equity and support the development of students who are disabled BIPOC and LGBTQ including students who hold multiple marginalized identities.
  • Ability to work successfully with and support a diverse staff and a strong commitment to creating an inclusive environment for staff and students.
  • A strong commitment to creating a culturally responsive environment for staff and students the delivery of programs that support diversity objectives and the development of cultural engagement and responsiveness skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience in an Urgent Care Family Practice or Higher Education Medical Clinic
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant
  • Knowledge of anatomy physiology pharmacology and medical terminology
  • Knowledge and experience using CPT and ICD10 coding for insurance billing
  • Basic accounting/inventory knowledge and experience
  • Fluency in more than one language medical interpretation skills not required for consideration
  • Record of commitment to advancing access diversity equity and inclusion efforts in higher education and/or the workplace setting
  • Ability to identify and collaborate to remove inequities barriers to access and forms of oppression that may be present in the programming or services related to this position
  • Experience delivering services to students/individuals/communities who hold marginalized identities such as Latine and Black students disabled students and/or LGBTQ students.
Conditions of Employment
Salary$3523 $4694/month depending on qualifications and experience.
