PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The purpose of the Behavior Technician position is to provide programmatic support to behavior programs as well as individual support to students. Successful behavior technicians will have an understanding of the basic principles of behavior change be patient and compassionate with students and staff and be able to work with a greater level of independence than a typical associate position.
7.5 hrs/day
Beginning Hourly Rate: $17.81/hr
This position is fulltime and iseligible for health insurance benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
1. Experience working with students with behaviorchallengesand implementing behavior plans preferred.
2. CPI certification and experience using CPI techniques preferred.
Education:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Firstresponder to behavior problems.
2.Document when behavioral problems take place.
3. Knowledge of all student BIPs.
4.Facilitate training for associates and teacherson behavior plans.
a. Assist with BIP questions and behavior concerns from associates.
5. Assist teachers with behavior plans/accommodations as needed
a. Serve as a resource to General Education liaison to ensure students plans are being implemented.
6. Routinely conduct integrity checklists of BIPs.
7. Ensure student plans are being implemented.
8. Classroom/student observations.
a. Checkins when concerns are raised in regard to BIPs/new behavior.
9. Assist teachers with social skills planning and provide repeated practice to students.
10. Assist in creating student materials related to BIPs (social stories break cards etc..
11. Attend meetings regarding student BIPs.
a. Behavior team meetings (i.e. with school psych behavior analyst etc.
12. Escort students to/from bus.
13. Assist with morning routines.
14. Provide direct associate service when needed.
15. Postcrisis communication as directed by the special education teacher and/or administrator.
16. Enter Chapter 103 documentation.
17. Scan student information into the district shared drive.
18 Maintain a reliable attendance record.
19. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory health as certified by a competent medical authority upon hire.
Repetitious bending lifting and hand movement.
Ability to work while standing moving and/or walking.
Drug tobacco and alcoholfree while working.
Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The majority of work is performed in an office or school setting.
Occasional meetings outside the school day.
Occasional exposure to body fluids fumes noise and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
