Job Description

Job Title:Consultant in Adult Psychiatry
Location:Canterbury Kent
Grade:Consultant
Hours: 28 hours per week
Rate:Competitive to be discussed upon application

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our esteemed NHS clients dynamic team based in Canterbury Kent. This position is available for an immediate start offering competitive rates.

Key Responsibilities:

The Consultant in Adult Psychiatry will provide highquality assessments and interventions to adults with mental health conditions. They will develop personalised care plans promote independence and improve the quality of life for patients. The consultant will liaise with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care participate in service and business planning activities and maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). They will also comply with the Trusts policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognised Medical Degree Qualification or equivalent (qualified and registered Psychiatrist).
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Registered Member of professional body.
  • Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in adult psychiatry with an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions special educational needs and knowledge of psychiatric interventions.
  • Ability to travel across a variety of sites in Kent within a timely manner.
  • Expertise in psychiatric assessments and interventions.
  • A high level of clinical skills as evidenced by peer review and reports.
  • Evidence of incorporating core values of commitment trust integrity and kindness into their work with others.
  • Willingness to work flexibly across a range of clinic models venues and days of the week.
  • Good communication skills and level of IT literacy.
  • An interest to advance professionally as evidenced by attendance and contribution to reflective practice meetings reliability meetings and/or other CPD events within their professional clinical practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
