Adult Youth and Child Worker (Internal)

Location: Summerland BC

BGC Okanagan is hiring an Adult Youth and Child Worker (Internal only) for our Summerland Secondary School program. This is a term position from September 2 2025 - June 26 2026 with the possibility to renew the contract for the next school year.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers information relevant to clients problems by interviewing observing behavior meeting with caregivers and service providers and using a variety of inventories checklists and questionnaires. Conducts structured analyses of the information gathered to provide an assessment of clients problems.
  • Evaluates client challenges and creates tailored counselling plans for individuals families and groups.
  • Provides skill-building in areas such as parenting skills anger management and self-management techniques.
  • Monitors clients progress and provides follow-up planning.
  • Maintains related records and statistics and provides reports to the supervisor as required.
  • Liaises with and/or promotes the interests of clients with other community service providers professionals and or school personnel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a related human / social service field one (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • Current First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.

This position is open to all applicants.

This position requires union membership.

Hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday during school hours

Rate of Pay: $27.54 an hour

Closing Date: July 18 2025
