Job Description

ROLE:Activity Leader

PROGRAM:ILSC MontrealMcGill Junior Camp

REPORTS TO: Program Manager/Activity Coordinator ILSC Junior Camp at MontrealMcGill

CONTRACT DURATION: 46 weeks from June 29 2025 until August 10 2025.

DURATION OF JUNIOR CAMP PROGRAM:

June 29 to August 10 2025 (ILSC Montreal Junior Camp)

June 29 to August 3 2025 (ILSC Junior Camp at McGill)

Activity leaders inject life into the activities program of an ILSC Junior Camp. They provide an experience that is fun engaging and culturally enriching for students. They supervise the students outside the classroom overseeing their welfare safety and discipline always.

The ILSC Junior Camp at MontrealMcGill requires 2 Activity Leadership Teams:

1. McGill Onsite Activity Leaders who live at the McGill residence with the students and lead onsite activities and supervise students during their onsite activities

2. ILSC Montreal Offsite Activity Leaders who live offcampus and supervise students on offsite excursions and field trips

Work Schedule and Timeline

The Activity Leader role is a fulltime fixedterm position. Due to the nature of the work your hours may vary and may be irregular.

McGill Onsite Activity Leaders

Full time hours onsite at McGill will begin on June 29 2025 until August 3 2025.

Preprogram staff training will take place at ILSC Montreal campus from June 23 2025 to June 27 2025

Your weekly work schedule will consist of six consecutive days of work followed by one full day off per week

Accommodation and meals are included while the Junior Camp is in operation from June 29August 3 2024

Remuneration is $712.50/week

ILSC Montreal Offsite Activity Leaders

Full time hours will begin at the ILSC Montreal campus on June 29 2025 until August 10 2025.

Preprogram staff training will take place at the ILSC Montreal campus from June 23 2025 to June 27 2025

Your weekly work schedule will consist of six consecutive days of work followed by one full day off per week

Remuneration is $19.00/hour

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties of this position include but are not limited to:

McGill Onsite Activity Leaders

  • Greet students at airport upon their arrival and accompany them back to McGill residence on a rotational basis
  • Accompany students from McGill residence to airport for their departure on a rotational basis
  • Welcome students staying in residence on their first Sunday assisting with their welcome orientation checking into their rooms and leading initial getting to know you activities as directed by the Activity Team Lead.
  • Lead nightly evening activities encouraging student participation with enthusiasm and leading by example
  • Supervise the going to bed and getting up routines morning and afternoon breaks evening mealtimes on a rotational basis
  • Ensure the health and safety welfare and discipline of students by being attentive to incidents of discrimination bullying or conflict between students and alerting the Junior Camp management staffthe Residence Coordinator Activity Coordinator or Program Manager of any issues
  • Monitor the whereabouts of students through taking attendance at set meeting times ensuring that curfews are kept and bedtimes respected
  • Complete student attendance reports as required and advise the Junior Camp management team of any absences or lateness or behavioral issues
  • Attend daily staff meetings for to review the days activities and to plan for the following day
  • Assist the Residence Coordinator Activity Coordinator and on occasion agents and accreditation inspectors in the observation and evaluation of activities
  • Supervise the departure of the students on their departure day checking beds and facilities collecting keys as appropriate escorting students and luggage to pickup points at agreed times.
  • Assist with arrivals and departures of students checking bedrooms and facilities escorting students on airport transfers as required etc.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining receipts.
  • All other reasonable requests

Offsite Activity Leaders

  • Greet students at airport upon their arrival and connect them with the driver assigned to bring them to their homestay
  • Assist the Junior Program Manager and Activity Coordinator with the Student Orientation on the morning of the first day of the program each week (typically Mondays) at the ILSC Montreal campus by leading initial getting to know you activities as well as assisting students with public transit cards and SIM cards and any other orientation tasks as directed by the Program Manager and Activity CoordinatorAttend daily staff meetings for to review the days activities and to plan for the following day
  • Supervise students during assigned activities and groups during excursions
  • Ensure the health and safety welfare and discipline of students by being attentive to incidents of discrimination bullying or conflict between students and alerting the Junior Camp management staffthe Centre Director Activity Coordinator or Academic Manager of any issues
  • Complete student attendance reports as required and advise the Junior Camp management team of any absences or lateness or behavioral issues
  • Assist the Activity Coordinator and on occasion the agents and accreditation inspectors in the observation and evaluation of activities
  • Attend daily staff meetings to review the days activities and to plan for the following day
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining receipts.
  • All other reasonable requests

Skills and Attributes

Essential

Experience working with teenagers in a camp or residential environment

Background in sports art drama or dance or social media

  • Enthusiasm energy and motivational skills

Desirable

CPR / First Aid / Lifeguard certification

Bilingualism: English and French

Additional Requirements of the Job:

Criminal Record Police Check

Medical records and immunization reports may be required

Les animateurs dactivits dynamisent le programme dactivits dun ILSC Junior Camp. Ils offrent une exprience amusante engageante et enrichissante sur le plan culturel pour les tudiants. Ils supervisent les tudiants en dehors de la salle de classe veillant toujours leur bientre leur scurit et leur discipline.

LILSC Junior Camp MontralMcGill ncessite deux quipes danimation :

1. Animateurs dactivits sur site McGill : Ces animateurs rsident dans la rsidence McGill avec les tudiants animent les activits sur site et supervisent les tudiants lors de ces activits.

2. Animateurs dactivits hors site ILSC Montral : Ces animateurs ne rsident pas sur le campus et encadrent les tudiants lors des excursions et sorties organises.

Horaire de travail et calendrier

Le poste danimateur dactivits est un emploi temps plein et dure dtermine. En raison de la nature du travail les horaires peuvent varier et tre irrguliers.

Animateurs dactivits sur site McGill

Les heures de travail temps plein sur le site de McGill dbuteront le 29 juin 2025 et se poursuivront jusquau 3 aot 2025.

Une formation du personnel avant le dbut du programme aura lieu sur le campus dILSC Montral du 23 au 27 juin 2025.

Lhoraire hebdomadaire comprendra six jours de travail conscutifs suivis dune journe complte de cong par semaine.

Lhbergement et les repas sont inclus pendant la dure du camp soit du 29 juin au 3 aot 2025.

Rmunration : 71250 $/semain

Animateurs dactivits hors site ILSC Montral

Les heures de travail temps plein dbuteront sur le campus ILSC Montral du 29 juin 2025 au 10 aot 2025.

Une formation du personnel avant le dbut du programme aura lieu sur le campus dILSC Montral du 23 au 27 juin 2025.

Lhoraire hebdomadaire comprendra six jours de travail conscutifs suivis dune journe complte de cong par semaine.

Rmunration : 1900 $/heure

Tches et responsabilits

Animateurs dactivits sur site McGill

Accueillir les tudiants laroport leur arrive et les accompagner jusqu la rsidence McGill selon un systme de rotation.

Accompagner les tudiants de la rsidence McGill laroport pour leur dpart selon un systme de rotation.

Accueillir les tudiants leur arrive la rsidence le dimanche les aider sinstaller animer leur orientation daccueil et organiser des activits de socialisation sous la direction du responsable des activits.

Animer des activits en soire encourager la participation des tudiants avec enthousiasme et donner lexemple.

Superviser les routines du coucher et du rveil les pauses du matin et de laprsmidi ainsi que les repas du soir selon un systme de rotation.

Veiller la sant la scurit au bientre et la discipline des tudiants en restant attentif aux cas de discrimination dintimidation ou de conflit et en informant lquipe de gestion du Junior Camp (coordonnateur de la rsidence coordonnateur des activits ou responsable du programme) en cas de problme.

Assurer le suivi des prsences lors des runions prvues veiller au respect des couvrefeux et des horaires de sommeil.

Remplir les rapports de prsence des tudiants et signaler toute absence ou problme de comportement lquipe de gestion du Junior Camp.

Assister aux runions quotidiennes du personnel pour faire le point sur les activits et planifier la journe suivante.

Aider le coordonnateur de la rsidence le coordonnateur des activits et loccasion les agents et inspecteurs daccrditation observer et valuer les activits.

Superviser le dpart des tudiants vrifier les chambres et les installations rcuprer les cls et escorter les tudiants et leurs bagages aux points de ramassage prvus.

Participer aux arrives et dparts des tudiants vrifier les chambres et les installations et accompagner les tudiants lors des transferts aroportuaires si ncessaire.

Responsable du suivi et de la gestion des reus.

Toute autre tche raisonnable demande.

Animateurs dactivits hors site

Accueillir les tudiants laroport leur arrive et les orienter vers leur chauffeur pour rejoindre leur famille daccueil.

Aider le responsable du programme junior et le coordonnateur des activits organiser lorientation des tudiants le premier jour de chaque semaine (gnralement les lundis) sur le campus ILSC Montral en animant des activits de socialisation en aidant les tudiants obtenir leur carte de transport et leur carte SIM et en ralisant dautres tches dorientation sous la direction du responsable du programme et du coordonnateur des activits.

Superviser les tudiants lors des activits et excursions assignes.

Veiller la sant la scurit au bientre et la discipline des tudiants en signalant tout cas de discrimination dintimidation ou de conflit lquipe de gestion du Junior Camp (directeur du centre coordonnateur des activits ou directeur acadmique).

Remplir les rapports de prsence des tudiants et signaler toute absence ou problme de comportement lquipe de gestion du Junior Camp.

Assister le coordonnateur des activits et loccasion les agents et inspecteurs daccrditation observer et valuer les activits.

Assister aux runions quotidiennes du personnel pour faire le point sur les activits et planifier la journe suivante.

Responsable du suivi et de la gestion des reus.

Toute autre tche raisonnable demande.
