    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Bachelors degree from an accredited fouryear college or university.
    2. Appropriate teaching certificate as issued by the State of Arizona to include appropriate vocational certification and endorsements.
    3. Have knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    2. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    3. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. To assist students toward the attainment of their potential for intellectual emotional and psychological growth and maturation.
    2. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; in harmony with the goals establishes desired student performance objectives for all lessons units and projects; communicates these objectives to students.
    3. Assesses students to determine whether desired student performance objectives are being achieved.
    4. Plans after identifying student needs a program of study.
    5. Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
    6. Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and refers to appropriate specialist where need exists.
    7. Evaluates conscientiously and fairly the accomplishments of students and provides progress reports as required by law District policy and administrative regulation.
    8. Provides an atmosphere physical and psychological conducive to learning.
    9. Maintains accurate permanent academic and attendance records for students.
    10. Counsels with colleagues students and/or parents on a regular basis.
    11. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules administrative regulations and Governing Board Policy.
    12. Attends and participates in general faculty and department meetings.
    13. Cooperates with other staff members in planning instructional goals objectives and methods.
    14. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for handicapped students.
    15. Assists and guides teachers in observing describing and referring suspected and identified handicapped students.
    16. Collaborates with classroom teachers and other staff members to implement behavior management programs and to provide suggestions for the students daily activities.
    17. Provides information support and counsel to parents and family when appropriate.
    18. Provides inservice education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning special education.
    19. Participates in Child Study Team meetings to provide information classroom observations and diagnosis.
    20. Provides information and assistance in placement of students who require residential or outside agency assistance.
    21. Assists in program planning identifying needs and interpreting data.
    22. Maintains thorough ongoing records for individual students receiving services.
    23. Assists in the selection of books equipment and other instructional equipment.
    24. Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
    25. Maintains and improves professional competence.
    26. Maintains active and harmonious involvement in community affairs.
    27. Performs other reasonable duties as may be directed by the Principal.
    28. Implements by instruction and action the District philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

    1. The teacher demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum subject content and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.
    2. The teacher plans using the states standards the schools curriculum data and engaging and appropriate strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students.
    3. The teacher uses a variety of researchbased instructional strategies relevant to the content area to engage students in active learning to promote key skills and to meet individual learning needs.
    4. The teacher systematically gathers analyzes and uses relevant data to measure student progress guide instructional content and delivery methods and provide timely feedback to students parents and stakeholders.
    5. The teacher uses resources routines and procedures to provide a respectful positive safe studentcentered environment that is conducive to learning.
    6. The teacher maintains a commitment to professional ethics collaborates and communicates appropriately and takes responsibility for personal professional growth that results in the enhancement of student learning.
    7. The work of the teacher results in acceptable measurable and appropriate student progress.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

    The Classroom Teacher reports to the site administrator. The Classroom Teacher will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    VIEW TEACHER INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN Plus $5000 annual contract addendum!
    SUPPLEMENTAL:Classroom Site Fund $10000 annual or prorated based on start date!
