Job Description
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and stage cancer in patients through physical examinations and medical tests
- Discuss treatment options with patients and their families considering factors such as the type and stage of cancer the patients overall health and the potential side effects of different treatment options
- Administer various treatment therapies such as chemotherapy radiation therapy immunotherapy and targeted therapy
- Monitor patients progress during treatment adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in cancer research and treatment options
- Document patient information treatment plans and progress reports in medical records
Skills
- Indepth knowledge of cancer types stages and treatment options
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests such as biopsies and imaging scans
- Expertise in administering chemotherapy and radiation therapy
- Strong decisionmaking skills in determining the most suitable treatment plans
- Ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to patients and their families
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining medical records
