JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Reservoir Engineer will be part of the Technical Resources Growth team and would primarily support BKV dCarbon Ventures reservoir engineering responsibilities. Additionally the is expected to provide support to BKVs business development team and the subsurface teams developing BKVs upstream assets. The role will be responsible for reservoir engineering related to the development of dCarbon Ventures carbon sequestration projects across the entire life cycle of the projects from initial screening to managing the reservoir during operations. These activities include but are not limited to reservoir characterization building and analyzing analytical/numerical reservoir models storage capacity estimation injection forecasting well test evaluations and reservoir model calibrations. Key responsibilities of the team you will be a part of will include helping screen project opportunities project design building and executing work plans for project development permit preparation and oversight of and operations.
The role requires a team player. Works closely with other subsurface team members and engineering disciplines to identify opportunities optimize project designs and streamline project . The role requires excellent project management skills and the ability to see the forest as well as the trees. It requires flexibility independence high energy and a handson approach to the work. As a senior Reservoir Engineering leader you will be called upon to mentor other team members and assist in their professional development.
RESPONSIBILITIES Typical job responsibilities of the Sr. Reservoir Engineer on the Technical Resources Growth teaminclude:
dCarbon Ventures project support
Reservoir Engineer/Subsurface engineer representative in multidiscipline evaluations of potential project opportunities
Perform rapid screening evaluations for project sites based on available data
Build out reservoir characterization work programs and execute them
Key member building running and evaluating reservoir simulation models
Participate in permit and regulatory filings preparation
Reservoir Engineer/Subsurface engineer representative in multidiscipline monitoring data evaluation and reservoir model calibration
Give guidance and occasionally carry out economic evaluations
Surveillance/learnings for continuous improvement of project performance
Science trials contribute to design and evaluation of science trials with multidiscipline team
Collaborate and lead technical analysis for new ventures team on investment/divestment opportunity(ies) as needed.
New ventures analysis/evaluation
Deep dives into virtual data room (VDRs)
Economic and scenario sensitivities
Help develop/validate opportunity assumptions
Upstream Asset Support
Provide peer review to upstream asset projects
Provide reservoir engineering support to assets as needed
Crossfunctional and crossasset projects as required
Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Understanding of carbon sequestration industry standards market trends emerging issues and regulatory requirements.
This person should have an indepth understanding of cashflow modeling for new ventures acquisitions and is comfortable presenting to senior management financial institutions third party reserve firms and their investors.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and jobrelated applications. Uses understanding of digital concepts to create basic digital tools.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Engineering required; Masters degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of reservoir engineering experience with strong fundamentals in fluid flow reservoir mechanisms analytical reservoir modeling reserves estimation type curves full field development planning asset management benchmarking budgeting and data analytics. Ideally experience should be gained with a major oil and gas company and then an independent and or private equity backed company.
Experience with CCS or EOR reservoirs is ideal. Experience with conventional oil and gas reservoirs is required. Experience in shale reservoir development planning including well spacing studies and evaluating well performance and completion trials is a plus.
Experience working closely with geoscience teams and other functions to characterize a reservoir and its seals and develop simulation models is ideal.
Experience working on multidiscipline teams and the ability to integrate across functions.
Ideally has material field experience with an understanding of operations and operations planning.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is located at BKV Headquarters in Denver Colorado Hybrid work will be considered.
Occasional travel may be required and would be on an as needed basis up to 10 of total time.
