About the Role
We are looking for a Engineering Manager (HandsOn) to lead a small team at Nexxen. This role is ideal for Senior Developer who is eager to take the next step into a leadership role. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable highperformance backend solutions in a dynamic environment where you can influence architecture and take ownership of the backend roadmap.
What Youll Do
- Lead and mentor a small team of offshore engineers (while remaining 80 handson).
- Architect design and implement scalable backend solutions for Nexxens core products.
- Own backend infrastructure and ensure system reliability scalability and performance.
- Define and enforce best practices in coding architecture and system design.
- Work closely with product managers frontend developers and DevOps teams to align business and technical objectives.
- Research and integrate new technologies to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Oversee backend development lifecycle from planning to production deployment.
What Youll Bring
- 10 years of experience in backend development building scalable production systems.
- 2 years of experience in a leadership role (team lead/ tech lead/ Architect).
- Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot) Must!
- Experience in designing microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Solid experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL Elasticsearch Redis Vertica).
- Experience with cloudbased environments (AWS GCP or Azure).
- Strong problemsolving skills with a passion for system design and architecture.
- Experience working with offshore teams a big advantage.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives.
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
