What you will be doing: As the Billet Operations Manager you will lead all aspects of the Billet Cast House operations. Youll be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations while managing the budget and driving continuous improvement across safety quality productivity and costs.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the entire Billet Cast House team to achieve targets in safety quality productivity inventory management and product qualification.
  • Implementing procedures and policies in coordination with Spectros strategic goals.
  • Achieving budget objectives and developing countermeasures in case of deviations.
  • Monitoring and reporting critical performance indicators (KPIs) while implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Driving the continuous improvement process within the team to enhance Cast House operations.
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive training plan for the Billet Cast House team.
  • Overseeing critical projects and regular performance reviews.
  • Maintaining clear communication with employees and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Managing manpower planning and fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Ensuring all safety guidelines and procedures are followed including proper protective equipment usage and cleanliness in the work area.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelors Level Degree in related field or equivalent experience and education.
  • 10 years of experience in aluminum melting and casting with Billet casting experience being a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in an operations leadership role with budget responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Previous intensive safety training is a plus.
  • A strong ability to solve problems particularly related to production equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • Proficient math reading and blueprint reading skills with a basic understanding of PLCs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present information to both peers and top management. Computer skills including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in English; additional Spanish skills are a plus.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Level Degree in related field or equivalent experience and education.
  • 10 years of experience in aluminum smelting and casting with Billet casting experience preferred
  • 5 years in an operations leadership role with budget responsibility

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Previous safety training and certification is a plus
  • Strong communication and problemsolving skills
  • Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus)
  • Leadership skills: Ability to lead motivate and manage a team.
  • Analytical and problemsolving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance standards billet operations.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a factory setting which may involve exposure to noise and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs when needed.
  • Ability to manage logistics and warehouse operations in a fluid environment.

Certifications & Training (Preferred but Not Required):

  • OSHA or other safetyrelated certifications.

Background & Screening:

  • Must pass a background check physical exam and drug screen (due to the nature of the work environment and safety requirements).
