Contributes to the strategic development and professional enrichment of Advance Practice Providers and staff within the division of Patient Care Services. Incorporates an Advanced Practice Professional model achieving clinical excellence educational and academic advancement and fostering research and promotion of evidenced based practice. Collaborates to assure the provision of highquality patient care using the familycentered care model achievement of financial goals effective program development and assures seamless interdisciplinary communication. Provides leadership for hospital major projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Directly oversees staff and actively participates in recruitment credentialing onboarding and development of a comprehensive competencybased orientation process. Oversees the ongoing evaluation process development recredentialing and performance management lifecycle.

  • Contributes to the planning development and implementation of the hospitals divisions strategic plans. Develops operational plans and strategies to ensure that all aims are obtained and sustained. Collaborates to set strategies for specific operations. Develops annual operational and capital budgets in collaboration with applicable Leadership.

  • Provides leadership for applicable hospital major projects IT construction EPIC implementation and others that arise.

  • Participates and is a member of the Office of the CNO Division Management Committee. Represents the hospitals divisions as a member of the hospitals patient care leadership team and assumes the responsibility of nursing administrator oncall duties. Participates in local state and national Advanced Practice Professional meetings and influences Advanced Practice Professionals within the hospital to present and publish evidencebased practice.

  • Develops policies and procedures based on current research or literature to ensure consistent ageappropriate care. Identifies develops and implements processes to ensure compliance with all state governmental and federal regulatory and legal requirements. Ensures Magnet requirements are met on an ongoing basis.

  • Facilitates quality improvement initiatives that support the highest level of patient care and overall satisfaction. Engages applicable teams to achieve national standards for performance outcomes and quality measures. Ensures that Advanced Practice staff utilize evidencebased practice through clinical inquiry and application to practice.

  • Develops a culture of shared of professional governance amongst staff ensuring that employee satisfaction and needs are addressed in a timely manner. Establishes mechanisms for Advanced Practice Professional staff enrichment and empowerment through shared professional governance.

Education Requirement:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing .

  • Doctor of Nursing or PhD in Nursing preferred.


Licensure Requirement:

  • Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

  • Current Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.


Certifications:

Certification in their specialty.


Skills:

  • Skill in promoting multidisciplinary collaboration; ability to act as a facilitator and change agent .

  • Promotes teamwork by building a team environment and fostering cross functional collaboration.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients parents external contacts and all levels of hospital staff and to maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Communication and leadership skills to plan organize and direct specialty programs and advanced practice professional staff.


Experience:

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in Health Care Management .

  • Experience and membership in professional nursing organizations preferred.

  • Experience in advanced practice nursing and pediatric health care preferred.
