Position Description
Join Serco as a Fleet Mechanic in Winchester KY! We support a large utility fleet by operating diagnosing and repairing light duty vehicles medium and heavyduty diesel trucks as well as other equipment.
As a Fleet Mechanic you can expect to:
- Perform operational and functional inspections repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Perform inspections repair and maintenance operations on a variety of powered nonpowered equipment and vehicles.
- Ability to work on a diverse equipment set which includes mowers cranes backhoes trailers trenchers bulldozers excavators diggers and pole setting equipment aerial manlifts cranes medium and heavy trucks and mounted/nonmounted attachments.
- Operate and perform diagnosis on equipment maintain and repair hydraulic systems routes and replaces hydraulic lines check system for leaks and proper operation.
- Perform diagnosis and repair complex electrical systems.
- Perform minor welding repairs when required in a field environment.
- Perform routine vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance inspections checking DOT inspections and replaces fluids checks lights and other electrical system components etc.
- Provide clear and accurate information when entering work order data into a fleet maintenance system.
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Work under general supervision and is a selfstarter.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
- At least 5 years of related experience
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Valid drivers license with good driving record
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers
- Must possess necessary skills to operate and interpret diagnostic equipment
- Must have welding experience
- Possess or ability to obtain Class B CDL within 45 days of employment
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Diesel vocational/technical school certifications
- ASE Certifications preferred or capable of gaining certifications
- Hydraulic experience preferred
