Fleet Manager
Lone Star Corporation is searching for a full time Fleet Manager that has a track record of successful management over large company fleet subject to DOT regulations. Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the organizations fleet. Daily Activities
- Develop a strong culture of safety. Lead and work collaboratively on the development and review of fleet safety and equipment training programs.
- Responsible for purchasing vehicles and having all units equipped for company use.
- Maintain all vehicle and driver information in fleet software.
- Monitor units mileage and key issues to forecast timing to trade in vehicle.
- Ensure each vehicle is equipped with company GPS tracking device. Remove GPS when vehicle is out of service.
- Conduct vehicle & Equipment inspections.
- Responsible for vehicle registration licensing and inspections.
- Maintain insurance for each unit. Ensure all vehicles have proper insurance card.
- Assign fuel cards to each unit. Monitor and report fuel expenses. Reconcile monthly fuel bill and allocate expenses to each division.
- Source best pricing for all fleet vendors including but not limited to fuel GPS tracking systems maintenance and repairs.
- Prioritizing the safety by reviewing and managing pre trip and post trip inspections to assess any minor or major hazards. Ensure actions are taken to mitigate or eliminate risks.
- Ensure compliance with federal state local and company requirements relating to training recordkeeping inspections reports policy and procedures and other related compliance issues.
- Develop and reenforce the fleet safety policies guidelines and procedures as set out by the Company.
- Participates in any fleet accident investigations problem resolution and appropriate feedback.
- Ensure leadership and employees are trained in all fleet policies and procedures.
- Oversee company mechanics and their daily tasks.
- Work closely with our DOT Manager and keep the DOT folders up to date.
- Any other duties assigned.
Position Requirements
- 5 Years as a fleet manager.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office office management software and fleet management software.
- Experience with GPS systems.
- Proficiency in English however ability to speak fluent Spanish is a plus.
- Competency with developing processes and policies.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and experience in federal state and local governmental regulations investigations audits and reporting compliance is required.
- Ability to identify problems and collaborate within a team environment to develop solutions.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- CDL is a plus.
- Ability to effectively work with all employees and external agencies.
