TITLE:Advanced Software Engineer (US Citizenship is REQUIRED)
CLEARANCE:Secret (Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance)
LOCATION:Onsite in Manassas VA 20110
RATE RANGE:$45/hr $58/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract)

As an Advanced Software Engineer youll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing cybersecurity software for the US Navy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop new software components in Java C C and Python to meet program needs
Integrate COTS tools including opensource products and APIdriven integration efforts
Containerize existing applications and deploy them using a tool like Docker or Podman Build multitier software solutions including database design and integration identification and authentication and data capture
Perform thorough unit testing of software components to prepare for integration in a larger system
Conduct software component integration to ensure endtoend system functionality prior to formal testing
Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
Research identify and evaluate new technologies for adoption by the Navy
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle including configuration management good coding practices and experience in writing testing and deploying productionquality software Software development experience using Java (JAVAFX) Spring C/C Python and other languages in a Linux environment
Knowledge of and experience using Linux (basic OS comprehension and basic shell scripting) preferably Red Hat or derivatives
Knowledge of containerization technologies on Linux OS (Docker Podman k8s RKE2
Experience with opensource software and custom software as well as integration between software applications using middle tier integration and datadriven models
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
Technical problemsolving ability for large and complex software systems
Analytical and innovative outlook on software and systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
Knowledge of Agile/DevOps methodologies
Knowledge of Docker/Podman containers
Knowledge of datadriven software application Distributed systemofsystem experience
Knowledge and experience using virtual machine platforms
Basic knowledge of networking in Linux
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or a related Science Engineering or Mathematics field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.
