A. POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the School of Engineering (SoE) Dean with a dotted line to the Vice Provost for Graduate Programs the Senior Assistant Dean of Enrollment and Student Services has the overall responsibility for the development coordination and implementation of recruitment enrollment management and student services strategies to achieve enrollment and student service goals across SoE. The Sr. Assistant Dean for Enrollment and Student Services will provide the vision and strategy for growing enrollment in SoE through program development student recruitment strategic use of scholarships and highquality student services to ensure student progress through graduation. The Assistant Dean will direct the entire admissions and student services team and oversee efforts to ensure a positive experience from first contact with SOE through graduation. A Senior Leadership team member the Assistant Dean will collaborate with the dean assistant dean of finance and administration and director of marketing and communications to ensure strong consistency in messaging and marketing of the School and its programs.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Enrollment Management
Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan geared to achieve programspecific enrollment targets. Continually research and analyze current graduate engineering markets with goals of understanding trends forecasting future directions identifying competitors and aspirational schools and seeking out new market opportunities.
Develop track and report on the strategies to gain inquiries and prospects and move them to become applicants. Keep statistics and analysis on various stages of the pipeline within each program and subprogram. Prepare reports on the relevant data for appropriate parties. Partners with SCU Online on any current and future online graduate programs.
Manage the Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant appointment process. To include ownership of the TA/RA form content used to communicate information dissemination of information to stakeholders tracking graduate tuition unit credit commitments and their alignment with SoE policies resolving related conflicts recording and communicating with SoE Deans Office applying graduate tuition unit credits to student accounts and verifying funding sources listed to support Research Assistant appointments before awards are made. This position will coordinate the content and distribution of all TA/RA appointment letters to students.

Serves on the Graduate Programs Council with the other Sr. Assistant Deans of Graduate Programs that is overseen by the Vice Provost for Graduate ProgramsCollaborate and consult with oncampus departments including other graduate schools (Business Engineering Law Pastoral Ministries and JST) for best practices and coordination of recruitment efforts.
Determine the appropriate outreach efforts (Grad Fairs Diversity Fairs etc. to staff and support.
Oversee the design and of the enrollment marketing plan (events advertisements in different venues brochures applications website social media takeaways etc. from the point of initial contact through matriculation.
In consultation with the Dean Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Department Chairs develop a financial aid strategy to utilize financial aid to attract qualified students. Coordinate financial aid awards for incoming students and work with the student services team to monitor financial aid.
Oversee development of all enrollment management marketing materials and collateral including online print and radio advertising; manage subcontracted agencies as necessary.
Management and Liaison Responsibilities
Work with the Dean Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Chairs to develop admissions standards and enrollment targets.
Provide leadership for enrollment management and recruiting and supervise the department staff and student employee team.
Liaison with appropriate units on campus including Admissions and Financial Aid.
Serve on local regional and national associations to ensure best practices in graduate admissions and student services. Working with the SoE Dean and the Vice Provost for Graduate Programs gathers data for the US News & World Report ranking report.
Lead Student Services Unit
In collaboration with the Dean develop a comprehensive plan for student services that is aligned with other graduate programs at SCU and ensures students receive strong support for program completion.
Lead staff development in the implementation of a new student services model that provides strong staff support for students in collaboration with faculty advising. Lead culture change and staff development to support the new model of student services.
Guide Graduate Programs Office staff to ensure timely management of enrollment processes degree audits and degree conferrals.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all student record keeping.
Develop and implement a plan for recordkeeping and student communication regarding student test requirements to ensure students are making good progress toward degrees and professional certification. This will involve collaboration among faculty advisors department chairs and program directors.

Identifies and determines causes of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices. Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved services. Maximizes productivity through the use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives. Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow. Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions. Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.
Develop and implement guidelines to support the functions of the unit.
E. QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge
Demonstrated leadership of individuals and entire units professional development and mentoring. Experience with higher education admissions and an understanding of the graduate admissions landscape. Demonstrated understanding of strategic marketing and enrollment management strategies Demonstrated understanding of the Jesuit mission especially values of cura personalis and magis and their implications for student services and admissions. Demonstrated familiarity with computer platforms and software (Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint) Familiarity with Slate or Workday is a plus

Must be able to run and interpret financial reports forecast the Graduate Programs Office units financial needs or shortfalls independently take corrective action and assist the SoE Dean and Senior Assistant Dean in the annual budget proposal process for the portion specific to the Graduate Programs Office budget.

8 years of admissions experience or similar relevant experience is desirable.
