Job Description

Position Title: Health Information Specialist

Type: FullTime

Company: BH Link

Location: East Providence

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in filling out paperwork as needed.
  • Maintain documentation and logs as appropriate.
  • Monitor relevant client records to identify errors and gaps in clinical data entry.
  • Coordinate with program supervisors and agency administrators to continually monitor and resolve programlevel EHR discrepancies.
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing ongoing progress in preventing errors in health record entry.
  • Help identify PQI needs and solutions in EHR entry reporting and clinical intake/discharge processes.
  • Collaborate with PQI administrators in an ongoing evaluation of clinical and administrative practices related to health records and health record entry.
  • Facilitate and engage in routine reporting processes.
  • Assist in the reporting and analysis of claims and thirdparty revenue data.
  • Assist in training clinical personnel in EHR related processes including opening and closing client records.
  • Help to ensure the comfort and safety of clients throughout their visit to BH Link.
  • Provide additional clinical and administrative support as needed.

  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in rapidly evolving programs and work environments.
  • Multilingual professionals are encouraged to apply (and reimbursed accordingly).

Experience and Education:

  • Degree in human services health administration (or similar field of study) or; 35 years of equivalent administrative healthcare experience.
  • Preferred 13 years experience in human services (or other relevant experience).
  • Experience in EHR administration intake and/or billing highly preferred.
